About The Author
Mary Heath
Hailing from Warrenton, Georgia, Mary’s journey began at a young age when her family moved to Atlanta. Over the years, she has maintained a strong connection to the state, earning a Communications degree from Columbia High School and the University of Georgia. Positioned as the youngest among her nine siblings, her early life was marked by challenges that ultimately shaped her character.
Despite facing adversity, including battles with depression, a transformative moment of self-acceptance shifted her perspective. This turning point sparked a new purpose in her life, leading her to transition from a conventional 9-5 routine to a life with a purpose. She now travels the world sharing her experience of living with a mental illness, aiming to inspire others and eliminate the societal stigma surrounding it.
Motivated by a deep concern for the issue of gun violence, mainly due to its intersection with mental health, she reflects on tragic events like mass shootings and wonders if she can help these individuals. Her primary goal is to raise awareness about mental health and contribute to preventive efforts. Mary is a true mental health advocate and hopes to build a healthier, safer society, fostering compassion, understanding, and change.
